In drypoint etching, I enjoy the raw expressiveness of rough lines, the softness, the pure, existential blackness, as well as the element of accidental freedom that arises later when cleaning the plate during the printing process. I appreciate the mobility of the technique and its independence from baths—you can etch outdoors, in a park, or in the city, which resonates with me since most of my work is done in notebooks.
I rarely work with prints, as I deeply love drawing, but when I do, I’m fully committed.
As for the prints presented here, in terms of their theme: it’s..THE MOOD.
